EEHA - Awareness Training

Course Duration: 1 Days

WHO IS THIS COURSE AIMED AT?

This course is suitable for electrical and general personnel working in / exposed to hazardous areas. This includes Instrument sales engineers who sell Ex rated instruments, Engineers who would like to obtain general knowledge of explosive protection techniques, HSE staff, non-electrical trade personnel , procrument personnel and line managers.

SCOPE:

This course covers the legislative requirements for hazardous area and provides an overview of the relevant standards. Also included is an introduction to general principles of explosion proof techniques, various explosion protected equipment and explanations on how to read hazardous area classification drawings and interpret equipment markings under different schemes i.e.

  • Overall OHS requirements
  • Legislative requirements for HA
  • Overview of the relevant Australian standards
  • Principles and Methodologies of Ex proof techniques
  • Introduction of various explosion protected equipment
  • HA drawings reading and interpretation of equipment markings

COURSE OUTCOMES:

This course will build up confidence and awareness to general personnel in hazardous areas where they can inadvertently introduce ignition sources to explosive environments. It would also address many common confusions that cause increased risk for workers in hazardous areas and help administrators. Engineers who attend this course would obtain general knowledge on electrical design in the hazardous areas.
